Cause of Pipeline Deformity Damage

Pipeline Leak Repair Challenges Presented
The pipeline rehabilitation challenge presented was with application of the material to a 36-inch diameter pipe carrying a total pressure load of 65 bars. Prior to application the pipe had to be clearly inspected to properly identify the deformity. It also had to be properly calculated to make sure that the pipe system would not lose pressure due to lacking proper hold.

The onshore site of the damages was clearly identified, evened out and cleaned. The protective layer of paint was also stripped along with the corrosion marks. Everything was made sure that no particulate matter or left-over corrosive materials were present. The pipes were prepared using mild abrasives to remove the paint and corrosion while sanding was necessary to even out the welding deformities present. The site was then dried and prepared before being given an application of ProAssure Wrap on the affected pipes.
